Blewitt Springs Shiraz

Angove Family Winemakers Blewitt Springs Shiraz draws from vines planted in the late 1940s. These gnarled vines, grown in light beach sand soils over a clay base, produce small crops of highly perfumed fruit.

The handpicked bunches are sorted and gently destemmed. The whole berries are fermented with natural yeast and minimal additions. Careful hand plunging and some foot stomping coax colour and flavour from the skins.

Once sugar dryness is reached, the wine is basket pressed and racked to seasoned French oak puncheons for nine months of maturation.

A deep dense purple, Angove Family Winemakers Blewitt Springs Shiraz has lush cherry flavours, delicate spice and soft tannins. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
